The new episode of Matt’s Art Chat is a conversation with British filmmaker Kemal Yildirim. His new film, Wastelands, is a study of the human condition and the way the mind fractures, presented via the story of a young woman forced to confront her past and her demons.

In our conversation, Kemal shares his journey to working in cinema and thoughts on the challenges of being an independent filmmaker. He also talks about influences and style, which come from his own art perspective and personal, lived experiences.
