A new exhibition of works by Olafur Eliasson is set to take place at the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao in Spain on February 14-April 4, 2021.
Eliasson is a Danish-Icelandic artist known for sculptures and large-scale installation art employing elemental materials such as light, water and air temperature to enhance the viewer’s experience. He is also known for his public interventions, architectural projects and advocacy.
Eliasson’s art grows from an interest in perception, movement, embodied experience, and feelings of self. Central to his artistic practice are his concern with nature.
The exhibition is titled Olafur Eliasson: In Real Life and will feature around 30 works created between 1990 and 2020. These works include sculptures, photographs, paintings, and installations, and aim to challenge the way we navigate and perceive our environment, leading us to reflect on the urgent issues of today.
