BIG FRED TUESDAY – Radio Cinema Broadcast #41 (FRED.FM)

Cinephile! This week’s episode of the BIG FRED TUESDAY features a chat with David Mitjans, board member of the Barcelona Film Festival, which took place in person and that has a particular focus on films somehow related to literature.

I also spoke with Tuija Halttunen about her documentary How To Kill a Cloud, a documentary exploring the bureaucracy and ethics of scientific research. And I talked with Sadri Centinkaya and Venla Varha about the Lost Boys, a powerful and rough-skinned film playing with the bounds of reality and fiction that, without giving too much away, revolves around a mystery and sex/drug travel to Cambodia and Thailand.

I also return with my weekly recurring “Dictionary of Film” and “Popcorn Classics” segment. For the former, I speak about the Hays Code. For the latter, I praise the 11th film of the fabled Godzilla series, the environmentalist Godzilla Vs. Hedorah from 1971, which makes up for its small budget with a huge creative impulse. STAY CINEPHILE!
